This project completed introduces a lively commercial frontage and streetscape in a prime downtown location at the corner of Cleveland Ave and Main Street, Squamish, BC.
The 5 storey development provides generous common outdoor amenity space for residential use at level 3 facing west towards the laneway, this outdoor area acts as a semi-private park for the enjoyment of residents. The wood frame building also includes an extensive green roof.
The landscape design takes inspiration from one of the unseen but most evident influences on this downtown development. The inflow and outflow winds, almost as regular as the tides define a composition of fluid forms, scents and textures. Each element is utilized as part of the landscape that celebrates seasons with functioning spaces for play and recreation.
